Reasoning About Data in XML Data Integration
نویسنده
چکیده
In this paper, we propose solutions to some problems arising while data from different sources is to be integrated under a given target schema. We address the following problems: inferring missing data based on constraints imposed by the target schema, generating mappings from a source schema to a target schema based on key constraints and value dependencies, and merging data based on subsumptions between XML data controlled by ontology and semantics defined by means of description logic.

Performance Analysis of Algorithms to Reason about XML Keys
Keys are fundamental for database management, independently of the particular data model used. In particular, several notions of XML keys have been proposed over the last decade, and their expressiveness and computational properties have been analyzed in theory. In practice, however, expressive notions of XML keys with good reasoning capabilities have been widely ignored. In this paper we prese...
متن کاملLogical Foundations of XML and XQuery
XML is the underlying representation formalism of much web-data. Thus to reason about web-data essentially boils down to reasoning about data in XML format. In this course the students learn about the main languages for querying XML data: XPath and XQuery. The course contains both theoretical work and practical examples.
متن کاملHandling XML with a Deductive Database System
We propose an integration of XML with F-Logic, a deductive object-oriented database framework. The F-Logic data model is in fact a semistructured data model, exhibiting many similarities with the XML/DOM data model: there is a canonical mapping from XML to a fragment of F-Logic. The advantages of the integration are that the full expressiveness of F-Logic (and the functionality of the FLORID sy...
متن کاملSpatial Tree Logics to reason about Semistructured Data
The Ambient Logic is a modal logic proposed to describe the structural and computational properties of distributed and mobile computations. The static part of the Ambient Logic is, essentially, a spatial logic for unordered labeled trees, hence it turns out to be a good foundation for expressing properties of tree-shaped data (i.e. semistructured data and XML). The Tree Query Language (TQL) is ...
متن کاملApply Uncertainty in Document-Oriented Database (MongoDB) Using F-XML
As moving to big data world where data is increasing in unstructured way with high velocity, there is a need of data-store to store this bundle amount of data. Traditionally, relational databases are used which are now not compatible to handle this large amount of data, so it is needed to move on to non-relational data-stores. In the current study, we have proposed an extension of the Mongo...
